MILLTec Round is the circular version optimised for installation on 5-axis machines. The reduced thickness and low weight facilitate machine performance while preserving the span and capacity of the machine’s use.
With a machine equipped with this technology, it is easier to carry out complex operations such as complete profiling, undercut machining, through holes and pocket creation.
MILLTec Round, the latest generation of circular magnetic chucks, is an innovative workholding system for 5-axis machines and represents a solution for holding workpieces on 5-axis machines. Working on 5 axes allows the use of shorter tools to increase feed rates and cutting speeds. With a machine equipped with this technology, it is easier to carry out complex operations such as complete profiling, undercut machining, through holes and pocket creation.
Machine performance is optimised when all 5 sides of the piece are accessible; unfortunately, with traditional workholding systems, the machining area is limited by the presence of brackets, which often require more tooling.
With MILLTec the piece is held by the support surface, without any obstacles blocking tools. This has multiple advantages:
Flexibility No need to pre-machine the workpiece.
The reduced thickness (MTG: 42mm – MTB: 51mm) and the low weight facilitate machine performance, negligibly limiting the span and capacity of its use. MILLTec has a steel frame that can be machined to create references, holes or alignment keys.
By equipping the entire surface of MILLTec with PFR 70/20 fixed pole extensions, it is possible to raise the workpiece to drill through holes.
The extensions also act as a mechanical shield, easily replaceable, to preserve the surface in the chuck over time.
Also available in the version for fixing thin workpieces, the RMP mobile extensions designed by Tecnomagnete offer easy positioning and optimal magnetic performance, including the elimination of chips and impurities during the transmission of the flow.
It ensures the complete elimination of machining vibrations, optimising the uniformity and precision of finishes. Thanks to the exclusive patent developed by Tecnomagnete, magnetic workholding on milling machines now meets unprecedented quality standards.
The innovative magnetic surface allows a considerable increase in machining speed and a substantial reduction in tool consumption, offering total workholding with the individual pieces and with the machine table.
