The solution
Quad Extra, an exclusive system for the latest evolution of the square pole
Quad Extra series permanent-electro magnetic chucks allow quick and flexible workholding of a wide variety of ferrous parts on milling machines, machining centres and pallets on FMS systems. They are powerful, lightweight, compact, easy to install and use and allow for singificant immediate benefits.
Operating with brackets and clamps, workpieces are never completely free and multiple positionings are necessary to complete the machining cycle.
With Quad Extra the workpiece remains free on 5 sides for machining; the clamping force is evenly distributed over the entire contact surface without any compression and deformation of the workpiece. This results in lower machining vibrations, better finishes and less stress on the machine.
Advantages
Quad Extra is based on an exclusive patent: the magnetic area consists of a modular pole plate coupled to the mono-block base structure by means of special high-strength screws. The workholding surface consists of steel and resin with a “double lattice” polar geometry to obtain closer magnetic clamps.
The innovative conformation of the Quad Extra permanent-electro magnetic system allows for:
- Significant structural solidity, thanks to the multi-pole plates integrated in the mono-block frame
- Greater reliability over time, thanks to a reduced amount of resin
- Greater concentration of strength on the workpieces, thanks to the double lattice structure
AUTOMATIC SHIMMING AND STRESS REDUCTION
A combination of fixed and movable pole extensions creates a flexible magnetic bed which can adapt to the piece to be clamped and securely hold it.
- Quick and automatic workpiece shimming
- Stress reduction of pieces of any size
- Ease of contouring and through drilling
HE version
The innovative HE configuration features an arrangement of High Efficiency magnetic poles, for a perfect balance between the magnetic areas. This contributes to maximum magnetic concentration on the workpiece, with any positioning, facilitating drilling for the positioning of references or stops.
