BR and BRW modules

The solution

BR and BRW modules: the quick and safe solution for thick slab handling

Thick slabs are a particularly difficult load to be handled: when handled with traditional methods (ropes and chains), personnel must remain near the load, with consequent risks for operators and equipment.

Rational systems also lead to frequent breakages of the coupling systems, which leads to a waste of time and expensive additional costs. The management of load separation strips also reduces storage spaces and represents added costs.

BR magnetic modules are extremely safe as they hook the load from above with uniformity and great clamping strength. This high level of safety is thanks to permanent-electro technology, which is insensitive to any power failures. In addition, they do not require backup batteries.

Advantages

Picking up, lifting, handling and releasing loads are quick operations; a single remote operator is able to easily carry out all tasks. It is possible to operate without spacers between slabs, opening up storage space.

Total safety in operating conditions

BR modules are capable of developing a 1:3 safety factor (the strength is 3 times the maximum permissible load) not only in ideal conditions but also in the most severe operating conditions. The optimised polar area allows for the maximum concentration of magnetic force in the presence of loads with irregular surfaces.

The BRW version has a particular cross-shaped structure, with a self-levelling device that prevents loads from becoming unbalanced.

A series of safety systems prevents lifting loads beyond the limit value (PICKUP), demagnetization during handling (DAUTANAC), as well as accidental activation or deactivation (SAFE).
